Making a Splash for Children with Cerebral Palsy

Jaine Mazer, our Aquatics Director, arranged for time in our exercise pool so that students from the University of Hartford’s physical therapy program could test out “Water Strider,” a flotation device they developed for children with cerebral palsy, ages 2 – 8. The goal is to provide a way for children to stay safely upright in the water, providing more mobility and enjoyment in the pool. They are hopeful for a future patent so that it can be made commercially in the future. Good luck!

The JCC helps the University of Hartford make swimming safer for everyone.
